School History
The beginnings of the Henryk Sienkiewicz Saturday School date back to a memorable day in September 1954. At a meeting attended by Wanda Buska, Janina Jankowska-Zygiel and Rev. Dr. Tadeusz Nagengast, a decision was made to open a Polish Saturday School. The aim of the newly established school was to popularize Polish culture, history and geography, and above all, to teach the Polish language and cultivate national traditions. In October 1954, the first classes were held in the Polish House and in 1955 the school accepted Henryk
Sienkiewicz as its patron.
